Ecobank Nigeria has partnered with AD Consulting to bring together leading Nigerian artists and architects in an initiative aimed at promoting the country’s creative economy while preserving its cultural heritage and intellectual capital

The partnership will bring leading voices in art and architecture together in Lagos for The Convergence: The Iconic Architect & the Icons of Art, an initiative designed to create conversations around Nigerian identity, creativity, ownership and legacy

The initiative comes amid growing interest in preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage and strengthening the role of creative industries in passing cultural identity, ideas and values to future generations

Founder of AD Consulting, Olajumoke Adenowo, said art and architecture remain important expressions of Nigeria’s identity and provide platforms through which cultural heritage can be preserved and interpreted for contemporary audiences

“Architecture and art are two of the most enduring expressions of who we are as a people. They tell our stories, preserve our heritage and give form to the values we want to pass on to future generations,” Adenowo said

She said The Convergence would bring the two creative fields together while creating space for discussions around identity, beauty, ownership and legacy

Adenowo added that the initiative, through its NeoHeritage concept, would offer a contemporary expression of Nigerian heritage while connecting it to future generations

Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ecobank Nigeria, Austen Osokpor, said the partnership reflects the bank’s interest in supporting African creative excellence and creating a platform where culture, creativity, private wealth and enterprise intersect

He said Africa’s wealth extends beyond financial capital to include its culture, creativity, intellectual capital and heritage, which he described as important assets requiring preservation and investment

“Africa’s wealth is not defined by financial capital alone. Our culture, creativity, intellectual capital and heritage are equally important assets that must be preserved, celebrated and passed on to future generations,” Osokpor said

According to him, The Convergence would create opportunities for artists, architects, collectors and cultural patrons to connect while placing Nigerian creativity within a wider African and global cultural conversation

“For Ecobank, this is more than an event. It is about creating meaningful platforms that connect people, ideas and opportunities, while reinforcing our commitment to African excellence,” he said

The partnership highlights the growing intersection between Nigeria’s creative industries, cultural heritage and enterprise, as artists, architects and other creative professionals increasingly contribute to the country’s wider economic and intellectual landscape

Through the initiative, Ecobank Nigeria and AD Consulting are seeking to create a platform for celebrating established creative voices while encouraging conversations around the ownership, preservation and commercial value of Nigeria’s cultural and intellectual assets
