The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will on Monday unveil the Nigeria Capital Market Master Plan 2026–2036, a 10-year framework designed to guide the development of Nigeria’s capital market.

The plan will be launched at the 2026 National Capital Market Conference, scheduled to take place at the Afreximbank African Trade Centre (AATC), in the Central Business District, Abuja

The Commission announced a change of venue for the conference, moving it from the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa to the AATC at Plot 1573, Central Business District, near the Ministry of Finance

According to the SEC, the event will also feature the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among the Commission, Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSDA) and the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) on fiscal incentives for national savings

The agreement is expected to establish a framework for collaboration among the three institutions on measures to encourage savings through fiscal incentives

The conference will also feature the inauguration of the NCMMP 2.0 Project Steering Committee and the Capital Market Masterplan Implementation Committee. Both committees are expected to support the execution of the new master plan

The Vice-President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, will chair the conference, while the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, will host the event

The unveiling comes as Nigeria’s capital market continues to provide a platform for mobilising long-term financing for businesses and government, while offering investors opportunities to invest in financial instruments

However, the SEC’s announcement did not provide further details on the master plan’s specific targets, implementation timeline or policy priorities
